Student Guidelines
Our Student Guide provides essential pre-arrival and orientation information to help new students
prepare for their transition to PrimeOne School Medan. This guide includes practical advice on school
life, an overview of academic and behavioral expectations, and details about student support services
available at the school.

- Application Submission
- Parents must submit a completed application form along with the required documents, including:
- A copy of the student’s birth certificate
- A copy of the most recent academic report
- A copy of family card
- A copy of parents’ ID

- New students must take a placement test to assess academic abilities. The test consists of:
- A multiple-choice section
- A short written essay
- A verbal interview to assess communication skills
Students will be placed in classes based on age and test results, ensuring that each student receives the appropriate level of education.

- School Tour
The school tour provides parents and students with an opportunity to explore the campus, understand the academic programs, and experience the learning environment firsthand.
Parents who are considering enrolling their child may request a school tour before enrollment. The school tour is available every Saturday morning from 08:00 AM to 12:00 PM, and additional appointments can be made with the principal on other days upon request.

Once students pass the placement test, parents must complete the payment process to confirm enrollment.
- Parent Interview
In addition to the placement test, parents will be interviewed to gain a better understanding of their child’s background and character. This interview helps the school assess how to best support the student’s learning experience and development.
- Orientation
After the student completes the fee payment and successfully passes the placement test, the school staff will inform parents about the orientation schedule.
On the orientation day, both parents and students will be invited to the school for the following activities:

- Attend a seminar led by the principal and directors, where they will discuss:
- A welcome speech by principals and director
- Introduction to the Board of Management from Kindergarten to Senior High School
- An overview of school rules, disciplinary policies, and safety guidelines
- An introduction to PrimeOne School’s values, policies, and academic expectations
For Students:
- Introduction to School Policies and Academics
- Overview of the school curriculum and learning structure
- Explanation of assessment methods and academic expectations
- Understanding school rules, disciplinary procedures, and student responsibilities
- Guidance on health, safety, and school regulations
- Classroom Induction
- Students will be guided to their respective classrooms
- They will meet their homeroom teacher, who will introduce the school program

- First Week Activity
The First Week Activity is conducted on the first day of school. Instead of starting lessons immediately, students will take part in various activities designed to help them adjust to the school environment, interact with their classmates, and get to know their teachers.
- Parent Engagement Program
After one month of learning, parents will be invited to PrimeOne School for a special session where they will receive updates on their child’s progress and engage in close discussions with teachers about their development.

The following items are required primarily for international students or those traveling from outside Medan. These items are necessary to support students’ smooth transition and well-being at PrimeOne School Medan.
Required Documents for International Students
In addition to the general admission documents, international students must also provide the following documents to complete their enrollment process:
- Certificate from the Embassy of the Country of Origin
- Letter of Recommendation from the Ministry of Education and Culture from Jakarta
- Letter of Transfer from the School of Origin
- Original Report Card
- Copy of Birth Certificate
- Copy of Passport, KITAS, and Visa (Father, Mother, and Child)
- Copy of Family Card
- Copy of Parents’ ID Cards
- Marriage Certificate
Additional travel documents:
International students should also carry the following documents during travel:
- Passport (with VISA, if required)
- PrimeOne School Admission Confirmation Letter
- Letter of Consent to Travel (for international students) – This document will be sent to you. It must be fully completed by the student’s parent/guardian and carried by the student. This may be required by Indonesian immigration or relevant authorities upon arrival (not required for students traveling as part of a school-organized group).
- Emergency Contact Form – This document will be sent to you. It must be fully completed and returned to PrimeOne School Medan prior to arrival, but students must also carry a copy of the form with them
- Transport Confirmation Letter – If the school arranges airport transfers, students should carry a copy of their transfer confirmation letter.
Sports Equipment
PrimeOne School Medan provides all necessary sports equipment, including balls, rackets, and other sports gear required for activities.
Students are welcome to bring their own sports equipment, but they are fully responsible for their belongings. All personal equipment should be clearly labeled with the student’s name to avoid misplacement or loss.
What to pack?
Students should bring casual and comfortable everyday clothing, suitable for school activities. In addition, students should also pack the following essentials:
- School uniform (as required by PrimeOne School Medan)
- Comfortable shoes for daily activities
- Sports clothes and sports shoes (for physical education or extracurricular activities)
- Raincoat or lightweight waterproof jacket (Medan’s weather can be unpredictable)
- Face mask or covering (if required)
- School supplies (notebooks, pens, pencils, and other required stationery)
- Backpack for carrying daily essentials
- Personal medication (if needed, with doctor’s prescription if required)
All clothes and personal belongings should be clearly labeled with the student’s name to prevent loss.
PrimeOne School Daily Schedule
PrimeOne School Medan follows a structured daily schedule:
- Early Kindergarten 1: 09:00 AM – 11:00 AM
- Early Kindergarten 2: 08:30 AM – 11:30 AM
- Kindergarten 1 & 2: 08:30 AM – 12:00 PM
- E1 – E3: 08:30 AM – 02:15 PM
- E4 – E6: 08:30 AM – 03:00 PM
- JH1 – JH2: 08:30 AM – 03:00 PM
- JH3 – SH3: 08:30 AM – 03:45 PM
Each lesson lasts 45 minutes, allowing students to engage in a balanced mix of academic subjects, extracurricular activities, and practical learning. Classes are delivered by qualified teachers specializing in their respective subjects and may alternate between theoretical lessons, project-based learning, and hands-on activities, ensuring a comprehensive and engaging learning experience.
Rules & Regulations
Punctuality
- Students must arrive at school by 08:30 AM for EK1 and by 08:00 AM for EK2 to SH3
- Upon arrival, students may be required to undergo health screening, including temperature checks, if necessary.
- Late arrivals may require a note from parents/guardians.
- Students must be punctual and arrive on time for their lessons and activities
Mobile Phones
- Students must deposit mobile phones with the Student Guardian upon arrival.
- Phones can only be collected at the end of the school day.
- Unauthorized use of phones during school hours will result in confiscation.
- For emergencies, students may request permission to use their phone under the supervision of school staff.
Illness & Medical Treatment
Before Arrival
- Parents/guardians must provide details of any ongoing illnesses, medical conditions, or necessary treatments (including medication) when completing the student enrollment form.
- Any information related to the student’s mental health should also be disclosed in this form to ensure appropriate support can be provided.
After Arrival
- Students who require regular medication must bring a written note detailing their condition and medication instructions and submit it to the School Administration Office.
- On their first day, students will receive guidance on who to contact if they feel unwell, and this information will also be communicated to their teachers for awareness and support.
If an Illness or Accident Occurs
- Minor Illnesses
- ✓ During school hours, students can visit the sick bay for assistance.
- ✓ If necessary, the school may contact the student’s parents/guardians for further instructions.
- Serious Illnesses or Medical Emergencies
- ✓ In case of a more serious illness or accident, the school will arrange for the student to visit a doctor or hospital as needed.
- ✓ If a student is hospitalized or requires emergency care, their parents/guardians will be contacted immediately.
- ✓ All medical expenses, including doctor consultations, medication, and transportation costs, must be covered by the student’s parents/guardians.
For students attending with a designated guardian, the guardian is responsible for accompanying the student to medical facilities and ensuring they receive proper care.
Fire Safety Procedures
- Regular fire drills will be conducted to ensure students understand the evacuation procedures.
- If the fire alarm sounds, students must evacuate immediately and proceed to the designated
assembly point. - Tampering with fire safety equipment or setting off a false fire alarm is a serious offence. Students
found doing so will be subject to disciplinary action and may be required to cover damages incurred.
Child Safeguarding Policy
- Students will be assisted by their Homeroom Teacher, who will guide them through their transition period, ensuring they understand the school environment, rules, and daily schedules.
- Homeroom Teachers will check in regularly with students to provide support, answer any questions, and address any concerns.
- The school follows a strict Safeguarding and Child Protection Policy to maintain a safe and supportive learning environment.
- Students are encouraged to approach their Homeroom Teacher or school staff if they need advice, guidance, or assistance at any time.
Classroom Learning and Academic Development
- Students will engage in a balanced curriculum, including:
- Core subjects (Mathematics, Science, English, Bahasa Indonesia, Social Studies, etc.)
- Skill-based learning (problem-solving, critical thinking, and project work)
- Character-building activities aligned with PrimeOne School Medan’s educational philosophy
- Student performance is continuously assessed, and those showing significant progress will be promoted to a higher-level class.
